The Seeds of Good Health

The Seeds of Good Health

Plant a seed and watch it grow. Eat a seed and take advantage of all the amazing health benefits of these tiny superfood powerhouses.

Why seeds? Seeds contain all the starting materials necessary to develop into complex plants. Because of this, they are extremely nutritious and high in protein, fiber and omega-3, just to name a few of their benefits.

Flaxseeds. Just one tablespoon provides a good amount of protein, fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, in addition to being a rich source of some vitamins and minerals.

Hemp Seeds are one of the few plants that are complete protein sources, meaning they contain all the essential amino acids that your body can’t make.

Sesame Seeds help reduce inflammation and lower blood cholesterol.

Pumpkin Seeds and pumpkin seed oil are both good sources of monounsaturated and omega-6 fats. Studies show this may help improve heart health and symptoms of urinary disorders.

Sunflower Seeds contain high levels of both monounsaturated and omega-6 fats, which help reduce inflammation and cholesterol levels.

Chia Seeds may be small, but they are mighty! More than just a topping to sprinkle on your smoothie. The Chia seed is a complete protein and one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids and is also high in fiber, antioxidants and minerals. Chia seeds reduce inflammation, improve heart health, aid in weight loss and are considered an excellent source of calcium for people who don’t eat dairy products.

These are just some of the reasons researchers and nutritionists alike are making a strong case for eating at least 1 ounce of seeds daily.
