Detox With Dandelion Root Tea

Nature is waking up from its long slumber and the cheery bright yellow dandelion flowers are popping up everywhere...Announcing springtime is here!

As we all know, springtime is a season of transition. The April showers are making way for new spring growth and May flowers. But for many, the cool and wet spring days can often challenge us with common issues such a seasonal insomnia, bloating and a lack of energy. We can feel stuck in the mud!


If this sounds familiar, you may want to give dandelion root a try. Dandelion is a wonderful springtime herbal ally and can be a nice alternative to your morning cup of coffee. More than a weed, dandelion has properties that reduce water retention and support your liver.


Dandelion root brews are dark and rich. It is a great caffeine-free alternative to coffee, with a rich a robust flavor that helps reduce bloat.


Dandelion Root Latte

Ingredients for a serving size of 2

1 cup water

1 dandelion root tea bag

1 cup non dairy milk

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra to dust

1/4 tsp ground cardamom

1 tsp raw honey Optional


To Make:

  1. Add water and non-dairy milk to a saucepan. Heat until very hot but not boiling.

  2. Add roasted dandelion tea bag to saucepan, allow tea to steep for 5 minutes.

  3. After 5 minutes remove the tea bag and add the remaining ingredients.

  4. Blend with a hand frothier or blend on high for 30 seconds until frothy.

  5. Pour into mug, dust with cinnamon and enjoy hot.
